Acre Research and Consulting, LLC

or, ACRE, as we've come to be known, is a registered land management consulting firm with the Texas Secretary of State.

We are an A+ accredited business with the Better Business Bureau.

Since 2010, ACRE has helped land and mineral owners by:

- Negotiating favorable oil, gas, mineral and brine leases

- Determining land and mineral/resource rights and interests

- Protecting and developing mineral interests

- Providing land record research, mapping, title defect curing, and title due diligence

- Mediating / Arbitrating

Brin Nichols, Landman & Mediator

Brin founded ACRE in 2014.

As a 20-year land management professional and longtime member of the American Association of Professional Landmen (AAPL), Brin has consulted with oil, gas and lithium producers, energy companies, the federal Bureau of Land Management, and individuals across Texas, Oklahoma, Arkansas, Louisiana, Kansas and Colorado.

Brin holds a B.S. in Law from Howard Payne University, is a certified Mediator in the state of Texas, and a Texas Notary Public.

When not helping East Texans preserve and promote their land and mineral rights, Brin enjoys beekeeping, gardening and reading, and maintains a licensed foster home with her husband.

Matthew Nichols, Landman

Matthew joined ACRE in 2019 and serves as a lead landman and consultant. A born people person, Matthew excels at connecting with fellow East Texans and advocating for their rights.

Matthew is a Notary Public in both Texas and Arkansas and a member of the American Association of Professional Landmen (AAPL). He is also an ordained minister and seminary graduate of Texas Baptist Institute. Matthew brings a strong sense of ethics and integrity to ACRE.

Outside of work, Matthew is a gifted singer and musician, an avid Jeep enthusiast, seafood connoisseur and outdoorsman.

Emily Wisdom, Realtor

Emily joined ACRE in 2024 and serves as a lead consultant and licensed Texas Real Estate Agent. As a proud member of the National Association of Realtors, Emily has a passion for helping people manage properties and real estate assets.

Our clients depend on Emily for her many local connections, her competitive market analyses, and her insight into the changing land, housing and interest market in East Texas.

Outside of work, Emily is a much beloved member of the Cass County community, a pastor's wife and avid baseball mom, and loves hiking national parks and traveling.

Debbie Jones, Researcher

Debbie joined ACRE in 2024 and serves as our lead researcher and Texas Notary Public. As an accomplished researchist and genealogist, Debbie has extensive experience in family and property history, wills and probate, and vital records.

Debbie holds a B. A. in English/History from Howard Payne University and is a proud seventh-generation Texan. Her deep roots in Texas fuel her passion and proficiency for helping our clients.

Outside of work, Debbie is a faith-based speaker and published author. In her down time, she enjoys reading and caring for her goats and chickens alongside her husband.

Lucinda Gault, Office Manager

Lucinda joined ACRE in 2016 and is our exceptional and efficient office manager. Lu is, quite frankly, ACRE's super hero.

When not handling scheduling, phone calls/emails and mountains of documents and files, Lu loves kayaking, listening to the Blurry Creatures podcast, shopping estate sales and watching BBC mysteries.
